Cleaning the font - YUCK

Do you like my hat??

Dancing in the rain

HOLA FAMILIA!!!!! Wow what a week I HAVE a lot to talk about!!

First off we had a baptism!!! L_____________ got baptized! She is so great! We had visited her almost every day before her baptism and she was so pumped and got more and more excited every day! It was neat to watch her so excited! But then on Friday she had a panic attack.  She has panic attacks and the doctors don't know why. When she has them she goes completely numb and she literally is not all there.... On Friday we went over to talk to her and get her even more pumped but when we got there her family said that she had had a panic attack!! We were so nervous! We worried that it was because she was nervous for her baptism or someone in her family said something, well after that we were struck hard with fear! Well maybe not, but we were really nervous for her! She had been preparing for months for her baptism.  We went back to the apartment later that night and we prayed. Well I should have said we BEGGED Heavenly Father that she would be alright for her baptism! The next day we had heard nothing from her or her family we were worried! Then POR FIN we got a text from her and she said that "I am going to my Baptism!!!" hahaha! It was perfect!!!!! But that's the best news of the week! The other stuff is a little funny!

I can answer that in your list of questions!

1.  How was your week?

This week I was sick. I got an infection in my intestines (no clue how to spell it anymore) and so I called Hermana Levrino and told her my symptoms. She told me to go and buy a medicine, so I went and bought this medicine. I began to take it. She said that in 3 days my symptoms didn't change to call her again. Well I ended up calling her 2 days later and told her that my symptoms had worsened then she asked about my medicine. I told her that I bought the right one but then she asked the brand, I told it to her the next thing I heard was "no no no Hermana Creason  este tipo no seirve....." (no no no Sister Creason, this type doesn't serve....) WHAT?¿?¿?¿? She then began to say that muchas veces they sell medicine that doesn't work to get money and then this person has to go back and buy more..... yeah the people of Argentina got the best out of me! haha So I then went back and bought the right kind and now I feel much better!!

Also this week in preparation for the baptism, my companion and I went to see the baptism font. When we got there, the water was still in it from the last baptism!!!!! ECKA!!!! It was disgusting! The font looked like it had never been cleaned! The grout in the tile was black and what started out as blue tile, ended up being a greenish yellow! Oh heck no!!!!! This was not going to fly with me! We then began to clean the font but before we could clean it, we had to empty it.... well the pump was not working.... we had no other option... we called the elders (we have elders in our ward too) and we began to bail the water out with buckets..... 3 hours later with a sore back and pruned toes we called it a day and planned to return the next day to clean the font. Well we had planned to clean for 2 hours....... we didn't think it through...... we ended up cleaning for 4 hours almost 5! The elders and the hermanas that live with us came to help too! I have photos that are really fun this week! haha and during this time was when I was sick. There are sometimes in the mission that all you can say is, "when I'm old, I' m going to laugh at this moment!" haha

2.  How hot is it there?

HOT?¿?¿? HOT?¿?¿? Hot doesn't even describe it here!! We have a rule that we have to be in our apartment from 11:30 hasta 5:30 because of the sun, and the ONLY reason that we can leave is if it is raining, we are in a taxi or if we have an appointment! haha yeah hot is nothing compared to Santiago! haha

3. Are you in the city of Santiago?

I'm in the city of La Banda. Its about 10 min from Santiago.

4.  What kind of city is it?
There are a lot of city parts in our area but we also have a lot of areas of dirt road. Oh how I had missed dirt roads! There are a lot in Palpala but none in Tres Cerritos!

5.  What kind of stores are there (Walmart like)?

Walmart? What's Walmart??? haha No I have never seen a Walmart. Even when I was in Tres Cerritos. The stores here are really different. Every other house is a store. Families start their own stores of food, clothes, other little things so we do our shopping there. It is much different in the US. In the US if you need to buy a pencil you need to go to Walmart, Walgreens, maybe in the gas station. But here in Argentina you have 8 different stores in the same block to choose from. It's really nice to be honest! haha

6.  What kind of fast food restaurants?

There isn't any here, well not that I have noticed. There is one close to our apartment that sells Lomito! It's the best thing that I have eaten here in Argentina! haha

7.  Do people in Argentina eat pizza?

They eat pizza like we eat pizza.... but it is better here!
8.  Have you heard from the Morris'?

No..... haven't.....

Well that's your questions!

This week has been a good one but also a lame one. Because I was sick we didn't work very much but the FONT is sparkling clean .... well almost!

I love my companion!!!! She is amazing! We get along great and we laugh a lot! She is a great missionary and I am glad to be here with her!!!

Ok totally ran out of time and I don't have time to write my spiritual moment for the week but I want you all to read D&C section 1 and find your purpose as a Child of God!

LOVE YOU LOTS AND MISS YOU MORE!!!!

Tres Cerritos

Hola mi familia!!

Wow what a week! I feel like I am always teaching here!! haha the work here in Santiago is so much different than Tres Cerritos! I guess that is a little obvious because Tres Cerritos is really really full of rich people, here all we do is say hola and the people are like, come in come in! haha well it feels like that! haha

My companion is Hermana Hanks. Like I said, she is from Bountiful and she is 19 years old. She has 4 months in the mission and she started her mission in Argentina. Her Spanish is really good but is obvious that we are learning... haha.  She has a great desire to serve and she has a lot of love to share. She too likes to quote movies but my problem is.... I don't remember the lines from the movies! haha

The work is going strong like I said, we had about 36 lessons with investigators, less actives and recent converts! It really is a huge difference!!! We actually have a baptism this Saturday!!! Her name is L______________. She is 25 and has a baby of 4 months named P________. She is the sweetest woman but she suffers from bad panic attacks. She has had several baptism dates but they have all fallen through, but she said that she will be baptized this week and if its necessary she will sleep in the church Friday night to make sure that she is there! She is really great! We also have a lot of investigators that we are teaching and prepping for baptism so this transfer should be fun.

So I have got some great news..... Hermana Barrientos emailed me and said that M__________ and her daughter A_________ went to church yesterday and are planning on being baptized on Saturday!!! Oh I am so happy for them but I am extremely sad that I won't be there but I have written a letter to them to help them spiritually! Hermana Barrientos still is not feeling good and she is not getting along with her companion but with the success that she is having is helping her a lot!

Never thought I would say this but, I miss Tres Cerritos!!! hahaha

Well my trip was horrible. 7 hours in the bus!!!! Oh it was bad! I think I had my first experience of being car sick.. haha but it was fun because I traveled with Hermana Fracis (she lived with me in Tres Ceritos). We also taught people in the bus and for a moment I felt a little like dad... but I didn't stand and preach to everyone... haha we talked to people one on one.
I am so happy for Kenzee!! She told me last week and I really started crying! I have grown such a strong testimony of missionary work and I am so grateful for it. It really has changed my life and I am not the same. I came across something today that I LOVE...

I am called of God. My authority is above that of the kings of the earth. By revelation I have been selected as a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. HE IS MY MASTER and he has called me to represent him. To stand in his place. To say and Do if he were personally ministering to the very people to whom he has sent me.
MY VOICE IS HIS VOICE.
MY WORDS ARE HIS WORDS.
and MY DOCTRINE IS HIS DOCTRINE.
My commission is to do what he wants done. To say what he wants said. To be a living modern witness in word and deed of the divinity of this great and marvelous work.
HOW GREAT IS MY CALLING

All my love and more!!

Hermana Barrientos and Me

Wow I just realized that I didn't tell you that transfers was today.... well if you have not guessed it, I got transferred. How weird. Most hermanas are in their areas for a long long time, like 6 months but me, nope. Once I hit my three months, chow. hahahaha

Well I really need to tell you about this week. This past week was a whole lot better. President Levrino came to the rescue. He talked to the hermanas that we live with, he talked to the members and even he came with us on some lessons. We worked so hard and a lot. We had doubled almost tripled our numbers. It was absolutely amazing. I really can say that I felt every one of your prayers it was such a good week. Hermana Barrientos is still healing but she really put her trust in the Lord and we worked our butts off. Oh I miss that girl already. We cried and cried last night. At first we had it rough and the middle was really rough but through all the hardships and trials, we gained not only a friendship, but a sisterhood. She is a great missionary and I really hope that I will have the chance to serve with her again.

Thursday was fine. They found out where they had detached the growth was irritated and for this cause she was in pain and had a lot of blood but we think that the problem is fixed but she is still having stomach pains so we really don't know. Keep her in your prayers.

Well this week was a blast. Thursday was Hermana Barrientos birthday and L___________ the chika that had the spirit in her home invited us over for lunch that day. It was fun, but the real miracle was that M___________ and her daughter A__________ went to church yesterday, as well as L_____________ and her mom C____________. How sweet is that????? I feel truly blessed that I began to see the fruit of my labors.
Well I bet your all itching to know where I got transferred too........ I'M IN SANTIAGO. WOOOO HOOOO. I had an hour bus ride this morning and arrived here about 30 minutes ago. Santiago is a poor area so it will be a little weird going from rich to poor, but I am excited. Also it is extremely hot here. Hermana Levrino called me and said that I need to prepare to sweat a lot and it won't matter what I do, but I am going to loose weight here. hahaha all the better right???

My new companion is Hermana Hanks. She is from Bountiful Utah.
WHO IS THE NEW BISHOP???? You never told me. I have been thinking that it is dad but who knows? Is dad still in the bishopric??? Oh I'm dying to know: speaking of dad, I didn't know that he could move his hips like that....... hahaha really is the best thing that I have seen in a long time. The funniest thing is that Dad is more into it than the rest.... hahahaha

Well I am not sure what else I can tell you so I guess I will close with this...

I have come to know that our Heavenly Father knows us and knows our situations, but not only does he know them but he ¨KNEW" about them and before we even came to this earth He prepared the way for us to accomplish every trial that comes our way.
I absolutely love Tres Cerrietos. When I first got there I remember thinking ¿how many days do I have left? Now I'm asking ¿when can I return?

I love this work and wish me luck this week in my new area.

con amor,
hermana creason

Wow this week was weird and hard!

I first want to thank each of you that prayed for the health of my companion! It was a scary thing for her to go through that and she needs all the prayers she can get because she has to go back this Thursday to have the camera check her again because she is still having the same problem as before but a little worse. This week was hard because she has been recovering and has received different symptoms so we have spent a lot of time this week in the apartment. And for this reason this week was hard.

Our ward here is small and kind of spoiled. They really don't want to help us so I was not able to leave and work because no one would go with me and sit with my companion so as this result our numbers are absolutely horrible!!! It is embarrassing! I know that numbers are not everything but this was bad! I felt sick to my stomach when we had to report our numbers! It was really hard for the both of us because there was nothing that we could do. My companion has been healing physically and spiritually, and I couldn't work. Saturday night we felt awful!! I think we cried for hours! We finally decided to pray together and ask Heavenly Father for His help. We needed a miracle!

When we woke up we were ready to take on the world but the feeling of our numbers did not go away. We had taught M___________ during the week and had planned to pass by her house and go to the church together. When we arrived there was a note on the door that said that she could not attend because her pastor changed the times of her church and gave her a calling. So now she feels obligated to go to her church. Well we where heartbroken! There was no one else that was close that we could pass so we went to church. When we got there we received the tender mercies of the Lord.

Outside waiting for us was L___________ and her mother. They are the ones that had a blessing in there home from the bad spirit! It was such a surprise! Also when we got into the chapel a ton of our less actives where there and were so happy!! So many people bore their testimonies and the spirit was so strong but what made my day was the last testimony. A___________ went and bore her testimony and it was the most heart felt testimony!! I was in tears! It was a blessing to witness that a person who I had been teaching had a testimony! This was the first time I had heard one of my converts testimonies!  I was touched with the spirit of the Lord and I am so grateful that I received this blessing!!!

I know that this work is not easy and my calling as a missionary is not easy but I discovered something in my studies this morning.

I was reading the Joseph Smith history when I realized that Joseph Smith began to translate the gold plates BEFORE he was baptized and BEFORE he received the priesthood! Never had I realized this!! That God had trusted someone to translate a holy record before he was spiritually clean through baptism or before he received the authority of God! It was the power of the Holy Ghost that he translated the record. I then began to think about me. God has entrusted me to do things that at times I don't feel adequate or worthy, I have received the gift of the Holy Ghost and he has entrusted me to do his work.

It is by HIS power and authority we can do all things!

I am sorry that the letter is short, but I hope you can feel that I am truly blessed and I am receiving blessings from the Lord I will never ever forget!

LOVE YOU
Hermana Creason!

Oh PS. I don't have to pay customs on my packages when they arrive here!!! YAY!!!!! But you can not send electronics of any sort!!

LOVE YOU!!!!!
